lumee exists to do one thing well: help you understand the news, not just read it. Our tagline — "Don't read the news. Understand the world." — is the whole idea.

What makes us different

Most news tells you what happened. We focus on what it means: the context, both sides of the argument, a plain-language explanation, and possible scenarios — clearly labelled as scenarios, never predictions.

How we fact-check

Every lumee article goes through a multi-step verification process before it is published:

• Fact extraction — we pull the core, confirmable facts from reporting.
• Strict fact-checking — each claim is graded for confidence, and anything uncertain is flagged.
• Live web verification — high-risk claims (names, numbers, titles, dates) are checked against current web sources. If something is disproven, we remove it.
• Transparent trust panel — every article shows our confidence level and what we could and could not independently verify.

We publish our uncertainty openly. If we could not fully verify something, we say so. We believe that honesty is what makes news trustworthy.

How our articles are made

lumee uses automated systems to monitor reputable news sources, verify facts, and write clear summaries. Human-defined rules decide what is safe to publish automatically and what is held for review. We always link to the original source so you can read further.
